Creative Marketing Opportunities
Creative Marketing Opportunities
Location: East Boston, MA (the cider house) — in person for shoots and events, flexible/remote for design and social work
Schedule: Part-time, a few hours a week, built around your class schedule
Compensation: $20 – $25/hr
Why Join Downeast?
Downeast is a growing cider company built by people who'd rather make something than talk about making something. If you're a student who wants real creative work for your portfolio, not busywork, and you'd like it to run on your schedule instead of ours, keep reading.
This role is flexible. Lean into what you're best at, and try the rest.
Photography: shoot product, lifestyle, and event content for our channels and marketing.
Graphic design: create social graphics, digital ads, signage, and other brand materials.
Social media: help plan, create, and post content, and keep an eye on what's landing with our audience.
Who We're Looking For
A college student studying photography, design, marketing, communications, or anything creative.
Someone with a strong eye who can show their work, from class projects to freelance gigs to your own Instagram.
A self-starter who takes feedback well and likes moving fast.
Bonus: experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or video editing.
One More Thing
Skip the resume and the cover letter. Just scan the provided QR code to submit your contact info and a link to (or files of) your portfolio: class projects, freelance work, your own Instagram, whatever shows us what you can do. Tell us which area or areas you're most interested in. If it looks like a fit, you'll hear from us for a quick call with our hiring manager. That's it.
You don't need to be great at all three areas. Strength in one and curiosity about the others is plenty.
About Downeast Cider
We first started fermenting batches of cider up at Bates College in 2011. We have a few more teammates now. You can now buy our cider in tens of thousands of retailers, not just a couple of bars in central Maine. It takes us 15 minutes to make a pallet of cider, not the 12 hours it took in the early days. We're diversifying beyond cider, but our aim remains the same:
We aspire to be an enduring company. If we create value for our customers, we create value for ourselves through fulfilling work and robust compensation. To do this requires a world-class brand, and a world-class team.
We define our culture by seven principles. You can read more about those principles on our website.
Unfiltered Hiring
We like to hire the way we like our cider: unfiltered. With the understanding that we can learn and grow from each other's differences, we are proud to hire regardless of gender, race, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, disability, age, or anything else that makes us who we are.
